The 6-piece funk collective contains Michael Buddy Bullard on guitar & vocals, Danny Korin on bass & vocals, Paul Whitsett on keys & vocals, Zach Willard on lead guitar, Zach Van Dijk on Trombone (sometimes bass), & Serge Mnatsakanov on drums. Let's just say the band is multi-dimensional, coming from many different musical backgrounds to bring funk to its core. And so it shall be told.

Founded in Charlotte, NC circa 2022, the motif was always to bring a groove to the people that they can catch on to and move with. Funkwondo brings that groove to life and then some with catchy driven riffs, psychedelic exploration, improvisational playfulness, and a soulful attitude. This boastful and exploratory funk has reached a wide range of audiences in the local NC and SC region, as their following continues to grow. 

Funkwondo has released three singles; Keep Up, Forever on the Run, and Malfunktion. An EP is in the works for a 2026 release, and their work ethic is a testament to the product they bring on stage. If you are ready to get down and go on an adventure, Funkwondo's got your back.
